Towards Net Zero: Mass Timber for Achieving Targets in Carbon Reduction
We are pleased to announce a special edition of our journal on the topic of “Toward Net Zero: Using Mass Timber for Achieving Targets in Carbon Reduction.” This special edition aims to bring together leading researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore the use of mass timber construction in achieving targets for net-zero carbon emissions.
The construction industry is responsible for a significant proportion of global carbon emissions, and the use of mass timber presents an exciting opportunity to reduce this impact. With its low embodied carbon, fast construction times, and potential for carbon sequestration, mass timber has the potential to transform the way we build.
We invite submissions on topics including but not limited to:
- Case studies of successful mass timber projects that have contributed to net-zero carbon emissions
- Innovative design and engineering approaches for achieving carbon reduction targets using mass timber
- Best practices for incorporating mass timber into building codes and regulations to support carbon reduction targets
- Life cycle assessment studies that compare the carbon footprint of mass timber construction to other building materials
- Advances in mass timber production and supply chain management to support carbon reduction goals
- The role of public policy and incentives in promoting the use of mass timber for net-zero carbon construction
Submissions should be original research articles that have not been published elsewhere. All papers will be subject to a rigorous peer-review process to ensure quality and relevance.
We look forward to receiving your submissions and to publishing the latest research in this exciting and important field.
